South Tampa is a region of the city that includes many waterfront area neighborhoods. South Tampa also features Bayshore Boulevard - claimed to be the longest continuous sidewalk in the world at 4.5 miles (7.2 km) long and 10 feet (3.0 m) wide. It is an extremely popular destination for recreation and exercise. MacDill Air Force Base is within this part of Tampa. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers play in nearby
Raymond James Stadium, off North Dale Mabry Highway.

Davis Islands

Davis Islands is a premier waterfront community in South Tampa - located within close proximity to downtown Tampa and surrounded by South Tampa, Harbour Island and many Bay area attractions. It is also home to the Davis Island Yacht Club and Marjorie Park Municipal Yacht Basin. Owing to its tropical location, nearly all streets on the island are named after bodies of water or islands. 

The Davis Islands Trail linear park was completed in 2010, with amenities such as benches and water fountains.  In 2014, the Roy Jenkins Pool reopened after a $2.5 million renovation. This 85-year-old building features 2 pools, one with 5 swim lanes extending 75 feet. Other sports facilities include the Sandra W. Freedman Tennis Complex and an array of softball fields at Davis Islands Park.

Harbour Island

An island community which sits adjacent to downtown Tampa, Harbour Island island consists of private residential areas, including high-rise condos, apartments, single-family homes and a yacht club. The Tampa Convention Center is located directly across the Harbour Island Bridge and the Channelside district, featuring the Florida Aquarium, is just across Beneficial Drive. Both these access routes are within walking distance.

The Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League play in nearby Amalie Arena. The arena hosts a variety of musical and other entertainment events throughout the year.

Hyde Park

Hyde Park is a historic neighborhood which includes Bayshore Boulevard, Hyde Park Village and SoHo. It features many historic homes and bungalows. Its history and proximity to the downtown Tampa area make it a highly desirable place to reside. There are a wide variety of new developments being built within Hyde Park - establishing multi-family housing developments among the previously existing houses and the many sought-after historic homes.
