From Small Town Fun to BIG Time Attraction!
In 1989, when a small group of companies decided to get together along Bahia Beach in small canopied booths, with fresh caught seafood, and homemade recipes to share, they had no idea that it would create one of the most successful traditions of SouthShore. Now 27 years strong, the Ruskin Seafood Festival is not only a gathering of local businesses and sponsors, but a destination for families, foodies, and fun lovers all across the Bay Area.
Returning this year to the historic E.G. Simmons Park on 19th Avenue NW, the Ruskin Seafood festival aims to bring out more than 25,000 people, all looking forward to great food, music, and events.
Saturday's events include bands Kozmic Pearl at 10am, Randy McNeeley Band at 12pm, and tribute band Fleetwood Max at 6pm. Sunday's bands are the Joe Zuniga band at 10:30am, and Spy vs. Spy at 11:45.
While listening to the music, make your way through the Arts & Crafts Displays, the Guppies R Guppies Kids Area, full of events, games, and even Jumbo the Clown! Boats will be on display, and of course, rows and rows of fresh fish, shrimp, lobster, clam chowders, deviled crabs, po'boys, and any other seafood dish one could possibly dream up. Local bakers and dessert vendors also come in to satisfy any sweet tooth cravings you may have!
Come out and be part of one of the most fun, and DELICIOUS traditions of SouthShore!
